I just posted a link to a blog where they did crazy quilting to cover a tin - swap. http://crazyquiltinginternational.blogspot.com/2010/03/covered-tin-swap-2009.html
These are really gorgeous little treasures. So I am thinking-- how did they do it?
I am finding out there are different creative ways to cover these little tins
Here is a beautiful tutorial using polymer clay http://www.desiredcreations.com/howTo_PJCoverAltoid.htm
Here is a tutorial with photos too using fabric or needlework http://tts-tutorials.blogspot.com/2007/01/tin-box-finish.html
These tins would also be wonderful worked up in needlepunch. I found a place that sells little kits to fit the top of your tin here
So don't throw away those cute little tins-embellish them and make them fun little treasures.
